“Casa per tre dame” was designed for a mother and her two daughters, who decided after years of living apart to sell their houses and start a new life under one roof. The purpose of the project was to create three units merged in a single building, designed with a seamless solution and meeting the individual needs of the clients.
Building is surrounded by public surface, so that it can show on each side its best profile. Separation between public and private space is achieved through the construction of a stone margin that refers to the stone walls which are a distinguishing feature of Sesto Fiorentino hillside area. The stone margin performs the function of a basement and above it are fixed two paired volumes, separated by a central distributive element, reminiscent of naval architecture.
In order to allow a better use of the exclusive gardens, the project includes the removal of the attic floor and the reduction of the basement extension, paying attention to the relationship of the built volume with the surrounding public garden.
