The factory is discreetly embedded beneath a living, vegetated ground—literally a green project that elevates the surrounding terrain. Above, its visible form is a series of aligned structures arranged according to the natural force lines of a still-rural environment. We find ourselves at the threshold of a municipality, in a transitional space between cities and provinces, at the junction of a valley nestled between the hills of Calenzano and the Calvana of Prato. This is an area of connectivity on the margins, continuous yet poised to become a landmark. Respect for these territorial cues governs the layering, scale, and orientation of the urban plan—a plan defined by its environmental, urban, and socio-economic sustainability, and set to become the green gateway of the Florence province with its cantilevered row of holm oaks. Ultimately, this project stems from a new vision of contemporary work, immersed in greenery with organic, rammed-earth walls reminiscent of the timeless bastions of an enduring city—a truly down-to-earth initiative, deeply rooted in the land, with the warm hue of field clay.
